Zimmermaniacs rejoice: the first track from Bob Dylan's upcoming record Together Through Life has been posted as a free download at bobdylan.com.
Titled “Beyond Here Lies Nothin’”, the song will be available for free from midnight today (March 30th) through midnight tonight. So drop what you're doing and click here now - the download literally takes about 10 seconds.
With Los Lobos's David Hidalgo on accordion, the tune has a sly, sexy, south-of-the-border feel. It also has a bit of the torch-song feel of "Million Miles" from Time Out of Mind (amazingly, already 11 years old).

As Dylan points out in a conversation on his website, the record, produced by Bob himself as "Jack Frost," has the feel of an early rock 45:
"The old Chess records, the Sun records. . . I think that’s my favorite sound for a record. I like the mood of those records - the intensity. The sound is uncluttered. There’s power and suspense. The whole vibration feels like it could be coming from inside your mind. It’s alive. It’s right there. Kind of sticks in your head like a toothache."
Together Through Life, the Bard of Hibbing's 46th official release, is out on April 28th. You can pre-order it in a variety of configurations here.
